朱文博参与很多的音乐计划。他使用单簧管,萨克斯风,麦克风,喇叭,录音机,打击乐……他做作曲,也做即兴;组织活动,也做发行。致力于“不像音乐的音乐”。

2月29日那天我演了住在加拿大蒙特利尔的小号手 Craig Pedersen 的三个作品。曲目如下:
1. open a mail
2. November 18, 2019 (all all and)
3. Extended listening blues.

故事是这样的:
在疫情刚开始的时候,Craig 发邮件问我这边怎么样。后来他提议说,要不我们一起互相发发邮件录点东西吧。
他先发给我一个他的作曲,November 18, 2019 (all all and),我录了一版独奏的,后来他也录了一版独奏的。后来他把它叠加在了一起。这是一个五分钟的作品。
然后他说,该你了。于是我给他写了一个,叫 open a mail。我请他在打开邮件的时候,做一个跟当下相关的录音(细节略);而后他也给我写了一个他的版本的 open a mail(同样细节略),由我来录音。这是一个十分钟的作品。
然后就是要准备密集的这次演出,我向他又要了一个之前的作曲,就是 Extended listening blues。这是一个18分钟的作品。
在这个演出的第一和第三个作曲我使用了吉他,第二个作曲我用的是人声。

噪音催眠
(耳机和录音机内置话筒之间的反馈)

这个作品已经演了10年左右。上一次是在1月21号,在鬼大爷家。之后所有的公开活动都取消了。
环境声、操作者的身体动作、呼吸,都会让声音变化。
与其说是用来听的音乐,不如说是身体现象。它的工作机制是:振动耳膜→生成电流→刺激脑神经→改变生物化学水平。在这个过程中,既不存在审美活动,也不存在智力活动,身体对噪音做出单纯的生理反应,就像一套机器。

请使用耳机。请躺下。

zhu wenbo involves in many different music projects. He uses clarinet, saxophone, microphone, speaker, recorder, percussion and more, doing compositions, improvisations, events and publications focus on “music unlike music”.

I played three composition works from trumpet player Craig Pedersen based in Montreal, Canada. They are:
1. open a mail
2. November 18, 2019 (all all and)
3. Extended listening blues.

At the early days of COVID-19, Craig write mail to me, asking the situation in Beijing. After that he suggested to do some collaboration recordings by mail.
At first he send me his composition text “November 18, 2019 (all all and)”, I recorded a solo version, then he recorded his solo, and dub them to as a duo. It is 5 minuets work.
Then he said, it’s your turn now. So I wrote he “open a mail”, inviting him to do a recording based on the while open the mail(details omitted here). Then he write his version’s “open a mail”(details omitted here again) to me for recording. It is ten minuets work.
To prepare this performance in miji, I wrote to him for asking another work. He sent me “Extended listening blues”. It is a 18 minuets work.
In miji performance I used guitar in part I & III, and voice in part II.

noise hypnotizing
(feedback between earphone and recorder’s build-in mics)

this work has been performed since about 10 years ago. the last time was on january 21st at guibog’s place. after that all public events were canceled.
environment sounds, body movements of the operator and his breathing would all make the sound changes.
rather than music for listening, this is more about physical phenomenon. its operation is: vibration on eardrums→transforming to electrons→stimulation on brain nerves→changing the bio-physical level. in such a process there is neither aesthetic activity, non intellectual activity. the body reacts to noise, as pure physically as a machine.
