閔小芬簡歷
閔小芬是國際上公認的用琵琶來演奏和詮釋現代音樂及爵士音樂的權威演奏家. 在2004年, 她是第一位中國音樂家授邀演出于加拿大舉辦的Toronto IAJE International Conference / 多倫多國際爵士音樂教育大會, 並榮獲 “傑出的爵士教育使者”殊榮. 同年, 她也是第一位被美國紐約林肯中心邀請用中國琵琶來演奏美國著名爵士作曲家Thelonious Monk 作品的民樂演奏家, 她還授邀于臺北市立國樂團, 首演了美國作曲家Anthony De Ritis 為琵琶及該團而作的協奏曲 “乒乓”. 從2006年 到 2008年之間, 她和她的藍調琵琶三重奏應邀參加演出了全美規模最大的JVC 爵士音樂節和 Deer Isle 爵士音樂節, 她還受邀于冰島的著名歌星Björk (比約克), 參與錄制了Björk的唱片專集 “Volta”, 并在紐約的Madison Square Garden 和 Radio City同臺演出. 閔小芬還榮獲美國作曲家基金會委約獎及紐約the Kitchen委約獎, 創作了 “龍之歸”, 與她的亞洲樂隊首演于紐約, 并由Ars Nova Workshop 和High Two公司錄制了唱片專集。
閔小芬, 原南京民樂團琵琶獨奏演員. 她師從其父閔季騫教授, 是著名的琵琶大師及南京師范大學教育家. 在1980年, 曾榮獲過江蘇省琵琶比賽第一名. 自1992年移居美國后, 她以獨奏家身份先后與美國紐約歌劇院, 紐約布魯克林交響樂團, 聖地雅哥交響樂團, 太平洋交響樂團和上海民族樂團等合作演出. 她還首演及世界巡迴演出近五十場, 由世界著名導演Peter Sellars 和著名作曲譚盾合作的新歌劇 “牡丹亭”。她以特邀獨奏家的身份參加世界各地的音樂節, 包括:荷蘭Utrecht國際彈拔樂節,奧地利維也納音樂節, 比利時布魯塞爾彈拔樂音樂節, 瑞士日內瓦現代音樂節, 德國柏林中國音樂節和美國紐約國際吉它音樂節等. 她與著名的現代爵士作曲家John Zorn多次合作並錄制了電影音樂及唱片 “Shaolin Ulysses” 和 “ The Port of Last Resort”. 她還與來自中國的著名作曲家陳怡, 周龍, 黃若, 瞿小松, 林品晶, 美國著名作曲家Philip Glass及美國著名爵士作曲家Wadada Leo Smith, Jane Ira Bloom, Mark Dresser, Jon Jing, Ned Rothenberg等合作並首演了他們的作品.
西方音樂評論家們對她的評論為:“閔小芬是跨時代的先鋒派, 她將琵琶推向一個嶄新的顛峰.” 美國紐約時報對她的評論是:“閔小芬大師級的演奏出神入化, 使人屏息, 時間留步.” 她先后錄制了近二十張唱片. 她的獨奏專輯 “閔小芬/ 月兒高”, 由英國Cala唱片公司出版發行, 在1996年被英國最具有權威的 “BBC音樂雜誌”評為全球最佳唱片獎之一, 她與英國著名的前衛派吉它大師Derek Bailey的琵琶與吉它即興二重奏 “Viper /青花蛇”, 由日本Avant唱片公司出版, 被英國的 “Wire Magazines” 評論為1998年全球最佳唱片之一, 她與Derek Bailey的第二張即興二重奏 “Flying Dragons / 飛龍”, 由英國的Incus 唱片公司出版發行, 被加拿大具有權威的爵士雜誌 “Coda” 評論為2002年全球十佳唱片獎之一. 閔小芬現居住在美國紐約, 是Blue Pipa, Inc. / 藍調琵琶藝術團www.bluepipa.org 的創辦人.

巫娜
1979年生于重庆。9岁学琴。师从赵家珍。并得到李祥霆、吴文光、龚一等先生指导。
2004年毕业于中央音乐学院,获得古琴硕士学位。同年担任中央民族歌舞团演奏员。
1992年,“92杭州国际古琴邀请赛”最高奖。
1994年,“中央音乐学院首届民族器乐观摩赛”最高奖。
1998年,中央音乐学院首届“龙音”奖民族器乐观摩赛最高奖。
2000年,中央音乐学院“萨默-雷石东奖学金”一等奖。
2002年,“全国青少年艺术大赛——民族器乐独奏赛”古琴青年专业组金奖。
1995年,师从宗柏,副修大提琴演奏。次年加入中央音乐学院附中民乐团大提琴声部。
1997年,师从宋艺,副修低音大提琴。次年加入中央音乐学院青年民族管弦乐团的低音大提琴声部。
1997年,参加“台北市传统艺术季”的演出和讲学活动,在台北国家音乐厅作古琴独奏演出。
1999年,作为“陈底里和朋友们”乐队的古琴演奏者,参加“99国际爵士乐集萃”演出。
2000年,应中央电视台邀请,成为“相逢2000——泰山迎接千禧年第一缕曙光”现场直播节目的古琴独奏者。
2002年,与上海爵士乐歌手coco合作,为“2002国际时装周”、“2002上海旅游节”等活动作现场即兴演出。
2003年,开办古琴工作室——“离骚琴馆”。
2004年,应卓越文化公司之邀编写出版《古琴初级教程》。
2004年,在中央音乐学院举办个人毕业独奏音乐会。
2004年,分别为孔宏伟、许巍、崔健的新专辑录制古琴即兴声部。
2005年,将原“离骚琴馆”更名为“丝桐馆”。
2005年,与窦唯合作,以“暮良文王”名义出版以古琴即兴为主的专辑《山豆几石页/祭然品气国》。
2005年,参加“不一定”乐队专辑《八和九生》的录音。参加“不一定”乐队上海、杭州演出。
2005年,担任“阳光下的梦——崔健个人演唱会”古琴演奏嘉宾。
2005年,在北京金帆音乐厅举办“慧灵古琴之约——巫娜古琴义演音乐会”。
2005年,参加即兴乐队“铁观音”在798南门剧场的演出。

艾斯特•温罗伊
艾斯特•温罗伊(1974,荷兰)是一位电子音乐领域的作曲家和声音艺术家。在结束古典萨克斯的学业之后,温罗伊作为驻地作曲家参与了欧洲舞蹈发展中心的工作,在那里,她用电子和数字技术为舞蹈和舞台表演服务。随后她在比利时根特的IPEM(心理声学与电子音乐学院)驻地。在这里,她使用电影编辑方法作为个人作曲的基础。
她的作品,从纯粹的电子音乐作曲,到用电子乐和传统乐器即兴合作,例如钢琴、笛子、萨满琵琶。她创作特定地点作品(site-specific)、多媒体表演和装置。
她曾经在欧洲和美国演出。同时她还在根特美术学校讲授20世纪音乐与实验艺术,并主持声音工作坊。她也主持Odradek,一个策划声音艺术和创造性(实验)音乐的活动、出版、音乐会的组织。她也主持比利时厂牌和音乐组织(k-raa-k)3的工作。

Min Xiao-Fen
Pipa soloist Min Xiao-Fen, internationally known for her virtuosity and fluid style, has received high acclaim for her classical, new music and jazz performances. She learned the pipa from her father, Min Ji-Qian, a professor and pipa master at Nanjing University. At age 17, she was chosen by the famed Nanjing Traditional Music Orchestra of China and spent over ten years as pipa soloist. She also won first prize at the Jiangsu national pipa competition in China.
After Ms. Min came to the United States in 1992. She was featured soloist with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the Pacific Symphony, the San Diego Symphony, the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra. She worked with pianist Randy Weston, composing a duet piece, Shang, that was recorded for his album Khepera (Verve). Min also recorded Shaolin Ulysses and The Port of Last Resort (Tzadik), movie soundtracks composed by John Zorn. She premiered composer Tan Dun’s Peony Pavilion (Sony), an opera with director Peter Sellars. She also worked with composers Chen Yi, Zhou Long, Philip Glass, Wadada Leo Smith, Jane Ira Bloom, Mark Dresser, Ned Rothenberg and Bun-Ching Lam. Min’s solo recording, The Moon Rising (Cala), was hailed by BBC Music Magazine as “one of the best CDs of 1996.” Her recording Viper (Avant), improvisations with Derek Bailey, was one of The Wire Magazine’s 1998 Albums of the Year.
In 2004, Min became the first Chinese musician invited to the IAJE International Conference in Toronto, Canada, and won an Outstanding Service to Jazz Education Award. She was the first Chinese musician invited to play at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City when she performed a solo set of the music of Thelonious Monk. That same year, she was invited by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band of New Orleans to play as a special guest, and she also premiered composer Anthony De Ritis’ pipa concerto Ping Pong with the Taipei Chinese Music Orchestra. Min’s piece The Loneliest Monk was commissioned and performed by The Kitchen’s House Blend in New York City. Recent highlights include appearances with her Blue Pipa Trio at the JVC Jazz Festival and a guest appearance on singer Björk’s latest album, Volta. She was invited by Björk to perform as a special guest at Madison Square Garden and Radio City in New York. She was a featured composer and performer for the American Composers Orchestra’s “Composer Out Front” project. Min received a new commission, Return of the Dragon, from The Kitchen, and also performed there with her Asian Trio. Min also premiered Huang Ruo’s work for solo pipa, Written on the Wind, for Meet the Composer. She is the founder of Blue Pipa Inc. (www.bluepipa.org) and currently lives in New York City.

Wu Na
graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music in 2004 with a M.A. in gu qin performance. She has been under the mentorship of renowned gu qin artists, Professors Zhao Jiazhen and Li Xiangting. In 2003, Wu Na founded the Li Sao House, which was renamed in 2005 to Silk Cotton House.
She collaborate widely with jazz, rock, electronica, avant-garde and impro musicians such as Cui Jian, Dou Wei, Elliott Sharp and more.

Esther Venrooy (°1974, Rosmalen, The Netherlands) is a composer and sound artist working in the field of electronic music. After completing studies in classical saxophone, Venrooy attended the European Dance Development Center (Arnhem) as a composer in residence, where she began employing electronic and digital techniques in pieces aimed at choreography and stage performance. Gradually her music evolved into an independent means of expression and she continued her work with electronica at the IPEM (Institute for Psycho-acoustics and Electronic Music) in Ghent, Belgium where she still resides. At this time she started utilizing film editing paradigms as a foundation for her personal composition methods.
Her works range from purely electronic composed music to improvised combinations of electronica with traditional instrumentation such as piano, flute and satsuma-biwa. She has created site-specific works as well as multimedia performances and installations. Much of her music has been released on CD or vinyl and has received good critical acclaim.
Esther Venrooy has performed her music extensively for audiences in cities such as Antwerp, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Madrid, Hamburg, Cologne Washington DC and The Hague. Upcoming concert destinations include New York, Dusseldorf, Berlin and Rotterdam.
Apart from her artistic activities, Venrooy is a lecturer on 20th century music and experimental arts at the Ghent school of fine arts, where she also runs the audio workshop. She runs also Odradek – an organization that curates events, releases and concerts dedicated to sound art and innovative or experimental music. Venrooy also presides the board of (k-raa-k)3 organization.
