Kaspar Konig (NL)
With the sound of the use of daily objects, Kaspar Konig tweaks, bends and changes the daily (auditive) habits. He uses the recorded results in performances, concerts and contemporary dance music. For instance, he’ll play the electric razor that turned into a sound shaver which effects the feedback or will play one of his modified soundbicycles.
In the circuit bending workshop he inspires participants to open the box of the machines, mainly to discover the enormous world of the shielded short-circuit. The objects have the tendency to become alive and the he prefers to leave them that way!
His performances take place in Berlin, Zürich, Barcelona, Maastricht and Athens where he
composed for several danceperformances and theater pieces in small and independent
theaters, galleries and concertspaces.

卡斯帕尔•昆尼悉利用日常用品的声音属性,去改造、转变日常聆听的习惯。他以此进行表演,也为当代舞蹈做配乐。举例来说,他会用能够产生反馈的电动剃须刀表演,也可能用他自造的声音自行车表演。

沈静
沈静是北京新一代前卫音乐的代表人物之一。她的音乐生涯开始于1998年,16岁,从那时到2006年8月,她一直担任挂在盒子上乐队的鼓手。 2003 年,她开始着迷于前卫/噪音,很快,鼓不再足够使她安静,来自Autobahn(Kraftwerk)的重复脉冲催眠了她的摇滚乐心脏,这是一条不能回头 的路……

Shenggy
Beijing’s Shenggy is one of the new generation of avant-garde representatives in China and also the first and only female harsh noise player from the country. She has also set up her self-titled label for the female noise and avant-garde ladies in the world.
biography
She started her music career in 1998 as a drummer when she was 16 years old, but after a revelatory, watershed year in 2003, her work began to demonstrate increasingly noticeable avant-garde / noise tendencies. Suddenly the drum kit was no longer enough: static and silence hypnotised her heart and she has never looked back.
Her father works for the Chinese government’s space programme so she grew up in the middle of Beijing’s astronomic and scientific community; as such she was inflienced by dreams of the cosmos since she was a young girl with an ambition to become the first woman on the moon; that dream still stands, but now she wants not only to land on the moon, but to play her music there too.
In February 2006 she formed a new unit, White, with Xiao Wang of Carsick Cars, with the aim of developing a form of cosmic industrialism and noise that makes reference to everything from the phase patterns of Steve Reich, Einsturzende Neubauten, Throbbing Gristle, Japanese noise artists, John Cage and the gu zheng masters of Chinese classical music.
This year has seen, too, successful collaborations with visiting New York avant-garde legend Elliott Sharp, Branca collaborator John Myers, electronic pioneer Alvin Curran, and Einsturzende Neubauten’s leader Blixa Bargeld.
She is also currently working on a solo performance art project that is focused on creating sonic universes with only her voice, Korg MS-20 synth, tape recorder, and a handful of samples.
philosophy
Sun Ra once said that a musician’s soul should be lit by happiness and freedom. This is the spirit I hope radiates from my work. Freedom independence from all things is very important to me. It takes a really strong person to be independent, and I see this as necessary for creating meaningful art. It works the other way, too, in that the process of creation is liberating in itself.
I see independence as a kind of ability to control and examine yourself without flinching. What people think of me and what I do is not important.
It all about self-realisation, which itself is a kind of endurance test. To me, achieving something in this way is far more satisfying than to have woken up one day with a magical talent. True enlightenment is hard work. It requires bravery and determination, but the ultimate reward is to be discarded by the world, left in peace to float freely along your own path.
My work is the product of this continuing struggle. It is the sound of my journey towards the lonely bliss of the cosmos.
