两人三脚(Three Legged Race) 是洛克星顿的键盘手和声音艺术家罗伯特·比蒂的化名。他是迷幻噪音三重奏毛发警察(Hair Police)(和Wolf Eyes的Mike Connelly一起)的成员,是前卫流行乐队眼睛与烟雾武器(Eyes & Arms of Smoke)的成员,是C. Spencer Yeh的自由即兴/长音团体燃烧的星核(Burning Star Core)的成员,是立体声苹果(Apples in Stereo)成员罗伯特·史耐德(Robert Schneider)的车库-流行乐队尤利西斯(ulysses)的成员。他经营无敌全能限量CDR厂牌Mountaain, 专门发表洛克星顿地区地下艺术家的大众消费声音,使用牛逼的美术/设计作品,艺术家包括Warmer Milks、Cadaver in Drag 、Walter Carson等等

两人三脚(Three Legged Race)持续进化的美学,是通过古旧电子设备和濒危神秘主义来实现,它探索简单音乐主题的反复、衰变,在渐变和转换中探索无尽的节奏和合声的可能性,通过微妙地影响观众的预期和理解,来改变他们和声波振动之间的精神关系。这是一种纯粹的精神声响,结合了Herbie Hancock的《六重奏》的前techno、Franco Battiato和Heldon的合成器精神、C. Schulz 和Lithops的微声实验、小杉武久的《Catch Wave》的极简长音,以及他在美国地下电子乐圈的同时代人的作品,例如Kites、Pax Titania 和Aaron Dilloway。

王仲堃

王仲堃于1982年出生于台北市,是台湾目前较为活跃和受推崇的新一代声音艺术家。现就读于国立台北艺术大学科技艺术研究所硕士班。
王仲堃也是台湾声音艺术界活跃的艺术新秀I/O sound lab成员(另外一人是姚仲涵)、“南海艺廊”驻场艺术家。曾获「2006台北艺术节」开幕征演首奖。并跟姚仲涵、Pei出版了合辑《宜兰音景·穗形》(诚品好读);在与姚仲涵、长志及与打开当代艺术工作站成员徐建宇的【Lag Jam】演出中,他们分别于四地同时线上进行声响表演。
王仲堃也是台湾2007国际新媒体艺术节参展贵宾。此前他和姚仲涵参加了2007二皮音乐节。

Three Legged Race

Three Legged Race is the nom de guerre of Lexington, KY-based sound artist Robert Beatty. His solo work is yet another confounding bullet on an already incomprehensible résumé which includes work with psychedelic noise trio Hair Police alongside Wolf Eyes’ Mike Connelly , enigmatic avant-pop combo Eyes & Arms of Smoke, C. Spencer Yeh’s free-improv/drone unit Burning Star Core , and even Robert Schneider’s (yes, of Apples in Stereo) short-lived garage-pop project ulysses . He also maintains the incomparably sophisticated limited-run CDR imprint Mountaain, whilst otherwise ensuring that everything produced by the Lexington-area underground for mass consumption sounds and looks superior with production and art/design work for Warmer Milks, Cadaver in Drag , Walter Carson and more. 3LR’s constantly evolving aesthetic, realized via an elaborate network of primitive electronics and salvaged arcana, explores repetition and deterioration of simple musical themes, discovering myriad rhythmic and harmonic possibilities with each tier of abstraction, gradually and deliberately transposing the listener’s psychic relationship with the oscillations by imperceptibly manipulating his or her expectations and understanding. This is a purely psychoactive sonority, incorporating the proto-techno of Herbie Hancock’s Sextant, the progressive synth psychosis of Franco Battiato and Heldon, the microtonal experimentation of C. Schulz and Lithops, the minimalist drone of Takehisi Kosugi’s Catch Wave, as well as the work of his contemporaries in the American underground electronics circuit, Kites, Pax Titania , and Aaron Dilloway.

WANG Chung-Kun

WANG Chung-Kun has received education in traditional sculpture, and his being gradually influenced by audio/sound art at the School inspired him to create and present a unique style across different fields of art with help of the digital tools. However, in terms of creation, should he make much out of a little matter or simply be open for any possibilities? As digital art has gradually been affirmed by the Taipei Arts Prize, a young creator like him will have more legitimate reasons to try different interests in many respects, and eventually make it happen…
