撒把芥末开始于1998年，这是一个松散的团体，传染的思想，不停的行动。它致力于自我发现和改善日常生活，因此大规模参与了当代独立文化艺术，它的生命随各种无法归类的创造而延伸：出版，演出，事件，展览，网络社群……

观音唱片是撒把芥末的子厂牌，创立于2004年，效力于迅速崛起的中国实验声音，及其国际交流。
“计声委”是撒把芥末的另一个分支，它是基于词语，图像，服装等形式的街头概念。

在思想和感受的行动中，越来越多的人一起，成为了这个不断蔓延的小宇宙的一部分。

Sub Jam was established in 1998. it’s a collective without organization, a mind without fixed form, an action without end. its aim is self-discovery and development of daily life. therefore it highly involved with contemporary independent art and culture. its life spreading with undefined and maverick culture and art on any possible form: publish, concert, happening, exhibition, internet community…
Kwanyin Records is sub-label of Sub Jam. founded in 2004 as a land of Chinese experimental sound and it’s international communication.
Sound Planning Committee is a creation of Sub Jam as well. it’s a street conception based on word, image and dress.
in the activities of mind and sense, more and more people have been part of this endlessly extending microcosmos.
